Adaptación de las ludotecas al entorno virtual y participación de 150 niños y niñas durante el confinamiento
Lima, Perú – En febrero de 2020 tuvimos que interrumpir todas las actividades presenciales de las redes de ludotecas debido al confinamiento provocado por la pandemia de la COVID-19. Sin embargo, y a petición de los propios niños y niñas, mantuvimos algunas actividades lúdicas a través de internet, logrando la participación de aproximadamente 150 niños y niñas durante los primeros tres meses de confinamiento. En abril de 2020, con el inicio del curso escolar y la puesta en marcha del programa del Ministerio de Educación “Aprendo en Casa”, identificamos que el tiempo, los ordenadores y los teléfonos móviles debían priorizarse para las actividades educativas. En ese contexto, muchas familias y niños solicitaron nuestro apoyo para afrontar esta nueva experiencia de educación virtual, desconocida hasta entonces para la mayoría de la comunidad educativa.
Un grupo de 25 voluntarias participó activamente en el diseño y desarrollo de actividades de apoyo a los programas educativos oficiales, manteniendo un enfoque lúdico y participativo, pero adaptado a los contenidos y objetivos establecidos por el programa nacional. Esta experiencia supuso un importante reto de adaptación tanto para las voluntarias como para las familias y estudiantes, aunque también resultó profundamente enriquecedora y gratificante para todas las personas implicadas. Las actividades propuestas eran previamente revisadas y validadas por los directores y directoras de los centros educativos, quienes posteriormente las compartían con sus alumnos y alumnas, fortaleciendo así el trabajo coordinado entre la comunidad educativa y el voluntariado.
Acciones y apoyo educativo digital frente a las dificultades de acceso a internet
Durante el desarrollo de las actividades virtuales identificamos las primeras dificultades relacionadas con el acceso a internet y a dispositivos tecnológicos por parte de muchas familias. Ante esta situación, adaptamos los materiales educativos del Ministerio de Educación transformándolos en formatos más accesibles, como archivos PDF y videos en MP4, para facilitar su envío y visualización a través de teléfonos móviles, especialmente en hogares que no contaban con conexión wifi.
Asimismo, pusimos en marcha diversas acciones solidarias para responder a estas necesidades. A través de la campaña de recaudación de fondos “Recárgame de educación”, logramos realizar recargas mensuales de 10 soles en datos móviles durante tres meses para 150 niños y niñas participantes, permitiéndoles mantener el contacto con sus docentes y enviar sus tareas mediante los teléfonos de sus madres y familiares. Estas acciones contribuyeron a reducir las barreras de acceso a la educación virtual durante el confinamiento.
Ludo-Talleres FED
Throughout these last two years we have maintained the direct participation of children in recreational activities. On May 28, 2020, International Play Day, we managed to launch an international Festival with clowns, stories, music, songs, dances, games, etc. in which more than 600 people participated. They even had the opportunity to see how the dolls that come to them from Spain are made!
The experience of that day has served us to establish other celebrations of costumes, stories, dances and dances, drawings, etc. At the end of July 2020, the children wanted to celebrate, also virtually, their National Holidays. Disguised as heroines and heroes, they discovered, playing, an important part of the history of Peru.
With the arrival of the summer holidays, in January 2021, the volunteers offered and organized a set of ludoworkshops where, without interfering with the official classes of the Ministry of Education, boys and girls could participate in several of them and learn what they they chose (English, crafts, origami, traditional Peruvian dance, music, drawing, painting, mathematics, music, modern dance, etc...). Most of them had two or more levels of difficulty, depending on the age and ability of the participants. Zoom became a wonderful tool that allowed us to do activities together, every day of the week, even if everyone was confined to their homes. It also allowed children from towns where we had never had face-to-face toy libraries to join.
Jugando en Casa (Ludotecas Virtuales)
At the beginning of the new school year in 2021, the summer program of ludoworkshops ended and we returned to the program of game at home on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We once again celebrated International Game Day in May and Children's Rights Day in November. The celebration of National Holidays was made with the broadcast of five programs of a television network invented by us FED News (Education and Development Foundation) and put into operation by presenters and journalists from 4 to 7 years old who commented for the hundreds of followers the tangible and intangible heritage of Peru in the year of its Bicentennial. In that television game, the boys and girls acted with incredible professionalism, they learned and narrated a lot of information about Peruvian culture, they received enormous support from their respective families and, above all, they thoroughly enjoyed acting as true professionals.
Playing against the coronavirus «refuerza la idea de protegerse y cuidarse para proteger y cuidar a otros», especialmente a los mayores. Pero también les proporciona la experiencia de hacer juntos una verdadera celebración del juego y la amistad. En «Perú», en 2022, we have started the ludoworkshops again during the holidays, which in the southern hemisphere are in January and February. We also hope to resume some face-to-face activity in the toy libraries because in March the restart of classes in the schools themselves is already planned..
